From THE HOLY BIBLE
'The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. ...'
Psalm 23, A psalm of David

'1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.

The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.'
Proverbs 22

Invest in Many Ventures
' 1 Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return.
Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.'
Ecclesiastes 11

The Word Became Flesh 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.'
John 1

The Coming of the Kingdom of God
' Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”'
Luke 17

ACT staff on the ground are carrying out assessments of damage and the needs of survivors.
While international aid is being flown in, ACT has been working on the ground from the moment the earthquake occurred.
ACT is planning to send a rapid support team of at least a response coordinator, a communicator, two water and sanitation experts and a finance expert.
ACT members are also preparing to send water and sanitation materials, hygiene kits, and psychosocial workers to the devastated area.
